BMW Motorrad Racing Team professional rider Marvin Mangulabnan clinched to the top position in the second leg in the Expert/Open category of the 2017 Philippine Superbike Championship (PSBK), held at the Clark International Speedway in Pampanga last June 3 to 4, 2017.
The competition weekend may have been riddled with precarious weather, as June marks the beginning of the rainy season—but the defending champion gave nothing less of a stellar performance in both races. He paced well alongside the lead pack on the first lap of his pre-final race, before charging on to seal his victory at the second lap after he overtook the top two racers.
A downpour of rain at the speedway during the break inevitably made the track slippery, causing the country’s top racers to change their racing tires to suit the terrain for the final race of the second leg. Marvin was clearly unfazed, as he powered through as usual with his award-winning BMW S1000RR—moving from the fourth spot in the first lap, to the top in the middle of the fifth lap.
These victories mark another exciting season for Marvin Mangulabnan and BMW Motorrad, proving that this champion tandem continues to be a force to be reckoned with in 2017.
